It is expected that 888 Casino will launch online poker in Nevada during the coming Summer, although they will have to wait until 2015 to take advantage of the full effect of a more open US market.

888 Casino got a Nevada gaming licence in March of this year and they are hoping to get a similar licence for New Jersey as soon as possible. The company's CEO Brian Mattingley has said that the company is waiting for the "final sign-off by the gaming control board" on its software. He has also expressed optimism on the speculation that New Jersey will allow both online casino games and poker, unlike Nevada (which unfortunately limits their offering to poker). Lastly, he said that the company will start spending a lot of money and time on marketing next year in the hope of successfully reaching players in the respective areas, particularly from 2015 and onwards.

Over in Europe, matters seem to have gone from strength to strength this year with the first 3 months of 2013 yielding strong performance in both Italy and Spain. These countries, which have recently been added to their resume, have helped the company to increase revenues by 9% to $103 milllion. Italy experienced particularly impressive gains after the government decided to allow companies such as 888 Casino to offer their players online slots. The fact that 888 Casino will return to the US market has also doubled 888's share price since the Summer of 2012, meaning that the company is now almost worth $915 million.

The US has banned all online gambling so playing games such as blackjack can only take place in land-based casinos. However’ changes that were made in certain states have opened the door to online gambling within the state’s borders but so far it will only permit poker games. Hopefully blackjack’s turn won’t be late to come.
