A Bank Robber Caught at the Blackjack Table 15.05.2012

A 39 year old man from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Joseph Baer, was wanted by the Pensylvania police in connection with three recent bank robberies. In the past, Baer has been found guilty of robbing banks. He is being charged for stealing $1000 from a bank in mid-April and is a suspect in two other bank robberies in the area.

Police have video tapes from security cameras which show Baer robbing two of the three banks. These robberies landed him on the FBI’s Most Wanted list and that there was a $1500 reward for information about his location.

Baer was only recently released after serving a six-year sentence for two previous bank robberies in 2004. As part of his parole, he was living in a federal halfway house and never returned after he left on the morning of April 14th to go to his job at a local McDonald’s. He never made it to work or back to the halfway house so police have also added another charge against Baer related to escaping from a halfway house.

As police are familiar with Baer and his known gambling habits, it was no surprise when New Jersey State Troopers found him gambling his problems away at a blackjack table at Trump Plaza Casino in nearby Atlantic City, New Jersey. The tip was reportedly called in by a Security guard who was on duty at the casino and may receive the reward money.

As it turns out, Baer’s trip to the blackjack tables was as unlucky as it could possibly get.
