Blackjack Winner Arrested for Drug Dealing 22.07.2013

Blackjack News

Most people would be absolutely delighted over winning $2,500 at the blackjack tables in one night, but for Mateen Johnson from Philadelphia, winning turned out to be his demise. The 35-year-old was enjoying a few hours of blackjack at the Philadelphia Racetrack and Casino in Bucks County before he decided to cash out his winnings. Staff at the casino very quickly realised that there was a warrant for the man's arrest and the police were contacted.

Police had been looking for Johnson since 2011, at which point they had followed the man to the Corner Bar and Grille where Johnson would help his accomplices distribute cocaine to mid-level dealers. However, Johnson managed to get away and has been on the run ever since. Police have also revealed that Johnson was an associate of Damion Floyd, the man who is alleged to be the leader of the drug organization in question. Following the arrest, Johnson was taken to the Blair Country Prison in order to face two separate offences, both related to dealing cocaine. Court proceedings followed which only lasted a few minutes as a plea agreement was struck.

The event certainly serves as a reminder that anybody considering any kind of crime at a casino (whether they are playing blackjack or any other game) should think twice before they act. Casinos use top-notch technology to prevent even the cleverest mastermind criminals from getting away with any form of crime.
