Gambler Leaves Son in Car in Sweltering Heat 20.08.2013

Blackjack News

With temperatures soaring this Summer, we see a lot of reminders about how dangerous cars can be for animals and toddlers if left inside with the doors locked. Unfortunately, many parents are not fit to be parents, as one blackjack gambler in Philadelphia proved recently.

44-year-old Danny Ngo spent 40 minutes gambling inside the Parx Casino whilst his 18-month-old son was left alone in a Lexus with locked doors and closed windows. Ngo has now been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment, with his bail set at as much as $100k.

The good news is that the number of similar incidents has decreased in recent years, thanks to efforts by the gambling hall to combat such occurrences. Nonetheless, there will every now and then be a news item describing an irresponsible gambler heading to a casino to play their favourite games and neglecting their children by leaving them outside by themselves.

However, you shouldn’t let this distract you from what a great and lucrative sport gambling can be. Only a week ago, a woman in New Philadelphia won $1 million at the Horseshoe Casino in Cleveland. This came only a year after frequenting the casino, and what makes the story even more astounding is the fact that the winner only played slots for pennies. So gambling can certainly make dreams come true, as long as you know how to be responsible about it and have a lot of fun doing it!
