Mobile Blackjack Meets Oktoberfest 21.10.2012
Beer lovers from around the world flock to Germany to enjoy German traditions and the festivities of Munchen Oktoberfest that take place from the end of September into October. While there are a handful of beer tents sent up to host visitors, there just isn’t enough room for everyone to be in a tent.
Just a few years ago this would have meant that people would have to stand outside the tent with very little do while they waited to get inside and with some tents only having a capacity of 90 people, waiting can be boring and drag on. Now, that has all changed thanks to numerous technology advances in the mobile industry and the fact that the festival’s organizers made sure there was free wi-fi available.
Two Spanish friends took advantage of the free internet and decided to log onto their favorite mobile casino app for playing blackjack. It worked out well for the two Spaniards. Carlos said, “We were lucky. In twenty minutes we won about a hundred euros. That night we drank for free.” But Carlos and his friend were not the only visitors to mobile casinos. Several German news outlets reported seeing many of the waiting guests playing blackjack and other casino games on their mobile devices while waiting for entrance into a beer tent. This should not come as much of a surprise since so many gambling activities often take place in casinos where there are plenty of drinks to be had.
