Police Claim Mum Left Daughter to Play Blackjack 23.10.2011

Police in Pittsburgh have filed charges against Ms. Tran B. Quach for child endangerment for leaving her 8-years-old daughter outside in the cold at the entrance to the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh in order to go into the casino and play blackjack.

Ms. Quach is a 30-years-old mother from Garfield, Pennsylvania, US who was caught on casino surveillance leaving her daughter at the front entrance of the casino just before 2 p.m. on Saturday and heading straight to the blackjack tables.

Around 2:30 p.m. Ms. Quach was seen playing blackjack with $535 worth of casino chips. Shortly after local police troopers found the girl wandering around and shivering as she was dressed only in a light jacket, summer skirt and flip flops while temperatures outside dropped below 10 degrees Celsius.

Ms. Quach claims she only left her at the daughter for ten minutes since she went to the casino to pick up her car, which was left by her in the casino parking the night before. The girl confirmed that her mum left the car the night at the casino the night before but claimed her mum did so because she was too drunk to drive.

River Casino has now banned Ms. Quach for life so Ms. Quach will need to find a new place to play blackjack, although we feel Ms. Tran should spend some time focusing on her daughter’s safety rather than making an effort to find a new casino where she can play blackjack.
